my journey
In 2018, after surviving multiple devastating , back to back miscarriages, Laura took matters into her own hands. Taking a stand against the grief that had derailed her life for years, Laura shifted from a victim mentality to a position of self-advocacy and action. In 2020, Laura became part of the solution and became a certified Doula through Dona International and shortly after founded Selah Fertility to address a deeply personal and deeply problematic occurrence in women’s care.
a new beginning
Founding Selah Fertility, in 2021, came from a passion to address “unexplained" miscarriages and widely experienced fertility issues. Through Selah, Laura is in the pursuit to equip every individual with the tools they need to optimize their health and, as an extension, their fertility. Selah uses modern and traditional doctor-approved practices to create a bold and personalized fertility journey for each and every family. Selah’s bespoke approach instills confidence and delivers grace to pregnancy need, preconception during pregnancy, and postpartum.

-Dr. Asiaii, MD on Selah Fertility-
Dr. Atena Asiaii is a board-certified OB/GYN who specializes in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and reproductive immunology. She treats a variety of conditions including infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, and uterine anomalies.
Her philosophy of care centers around empathetic and personalized care where patients feel validated and heard. She advocates for her patients including them as part of the care team. Dr. Asiaii does not believe that infertility or pregnancy loss is ever unexplained, but instead, under investigated. With enough diligence, a cause can often be found, providing the opportunity for treatment.
Dr. Asiaii completed medical school at Brown University and OB/GYN residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard Medical School Teaching Hospital. She worked as a Stanford Hospital community physician while completing a fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery in Gynecology and Reproductive Surgery, accredited by the Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. In addition, she’s certified in the fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery, single-incision surgery and advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic technologies.
She is currently working as a community physician at Freyja Clinic in Redwood City.
